2020 Summer Camp Announcement – COVID-19

Dear Friends of Camp Kaskitowa,

As we at Camp Kaskitowa continue watching the development of the COVID-19 virus around the world and our nation, we will continue to pray for healing of those affected and for the virus to subside quickly. Even though this summer will be different than our past 80 years of ministry, we will continue to serve the Lord through this time of uncertainty as we are able.

One of our greatest desires is to be able to provide a safe environment for our campers and staff. We have no desire to help the virus spread and we will comply with all laws concerning social gatherings.

With much prayer, consideration, and consultation with the Camp Executive Committee and The Board of Directors we have decided to cancel all summer programs in 2020. (Stockade Adventure, Explorer Camps, Adventure Camp, Father Child Camp, and Memorial Day and 4th of July Family Camps. Labor Day Family Camp is still pending.)

If you have already registered, we will contact you and you may choose to:

  1. Be issued a full refund for the canceled program including your deposit.
  2. Let us hold your registration or deposit to apply to a future program.
  3. Generously donate part or all of your registration/deposit cost to help Camp Kaskitowa though what will be a challenging time. (recent legislation will now allow up to a $300 tax deduction for 2020 even if you do not itemize deductions)

We know many of you are also facing hard times financially so there is no pressure to donate or let us hold your registration costs. We want to help in any way we can.

Please contact us with any questions you may have.

God Bless,
Richard Smith
Camp Kaskitowa Board President

About US

History

Camp Kaskitowa was founded in 1939 and was originally located in Wisconsin where it served as the first Christian Service Brigade camp. In 1942, the camp was relocated to a site in northern Michigan before moving to it's current location in Allegan, Michigan in 1945. The name “Kaskitowa” was chosen in 1940 because of it's meaning, “He has accomplished the work”.
